River Six — Rules & Tournament Format
Game rules and tournament format for River Six at River Boy Club
Game Rules
- Pétanque is played by throwing metal balls toward a small target ball called the jack.
- The team whose ball is closest to the jack scores the point for that round.
- Players continue throwing until all balls for that round have been played.
- At the end of the round, only one team scores — they get 1 point for each ball closer to the jack than the opponent’s best ball.
- A match is won by the first team to reach 13 points.
- Players should wait for the signal before entering the field and starting the next match.
Tournament Rules
- Exactly 6 players join one River Six tournament.
- The system automatically creates 3 teams of 2 players.
- The tournament begins with a Round Robin stage of 3 matches.
- Each team plays against the other teams once.
- The top 2 teams in the standings advance to the final.
- If teams are level, ranking is decided by wins first, then point difference, then points scored.
- The final decides the tournament winner.
- The winner is shown live on screen and saved to tournament history.
